A unique traditional herbal formula, popular in South India, which keeps the hair soft and smooth.

Collected by indigenous communities in the Nilgiris.
The main ingredient is Shikakai which grows in dry deciduous forest patches.

Composition :
- SHIKAKAI in powder (Shikakai - Acacia Concinna) : 45%
- JAPAPUSHPA in powder (Hibiscus - Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis) : 10%
- METHI in powder (Fenugrek - Trigonella foenum-graecum) : 5%
- SOAPKAI in powder (Soapnut - Sapindus Emarginatus) : 40%

SHIKAKAI : Acacia Concinna
The pods are considered in India as a valuable medicine.
It is commonly ordered in cases of jaundice and other biliary derangement's, and are used by Indians for centuries for washing their hair.
The pods are considered a superior cleanser for " lustrous long hair " and have been reported as " promoting hair growth and preventing dandruff ".
Because of these benefits, this powder was named "shikakai" which literally translates as " fruit for the hair ". It has a natural low pH, is extremely mild, and doesn't strip hair of natural oils. Usually no rinse or conditioner is used since shikakai also acts as a detangler. This ancient product is probably the world's original pH balanced shampoo.
Typically, shikakai is mixed with water to make a paste which is worked through the hair. It lathers moderately and cleans hair beautifully.

JAPAPUSHPA : Hibiscus rosa-sinensis :
These flowers were traditionally used in India to wash hair.

In Ayurvedic medicine, hibiscus petals are believed to stimulate thicker hair growth and to prevent premature graying, hair loss, and scalp disorders.
Hibiscus is purportedly mild enough to be used to shampoo babies.

METHI : Trigonella foenum-graecum :
the seeds contains lecithin and 30% of prot?ins which prevent hair fall and promote hair growth. The paste of fresh fenugreek leaves is used to get rid of dandruff, to increase the length of hair, to soften the hair, and to help preserve its natural color. A paste made from the seeds can also be used.

ARISHTA : Sapindus Emarginatus :
The saponins A and C and sapindosids A and B which are found in the rind of the fruit have showed antifungal activity. Moreover the fruits possess tonic and astringent properties.
